Program Statement
The Bus Shelter project was brought to us by Yiqi, a group interested in exploring the design of new and inventive bus shelters for the Northwest Arkansas region. The students were given a set of strict guidelines from the client and a budget of $5,000 to complete the work. As a group, we worked with Alternative Designs, a local metal fabricator, and developed a set of detailed shop drawings from which the steel in the project was fabricated. The wood portion of the project was constructed by Fay Jones School of Architecture and Design students within Vol Walkers Design Labs.
